Tom cat comes a-courting

With his big macho head there is no doubting that this is a tom cat.    I’ve never seen him around before and he seems pretty wild.   This pic is with a zoom lense as he was sitting on the roof of the visitor centre.   Well, it is attractive venue for him, biscuits on offer, comfy beds and lots of girl cats.    I wonder if her realizes that most are spayed?    He stayed around until dark, chatting up the residents.  There are scars and battle wounds  on his face – I hope he leaves our boycats alone, a neutered cat is no match for a toughie like this one.    It’s always a problem when an entire male cat comes calling – our happy routine is disrupted and all the cats get in a fluster.   First we have to find out whether he has an owner or is living wild.    If he is, we’ll coax him indoors and tame him.   When we can handle him and get him in a basket, we’ll have him vaccinated.    If we can’t relocate him as a tom cat, he will be neutered and then it’s a life of domesticity, fish suppers and no more he’ll go a roaming.
