Tiny kitten purrs

Is Daisy getting stronger?   I think so, she’s still eating on her own, only a nibble at a time but  it’s obvious that she is finding the motherly love from Baige (who has her own newborn kittens) very reassuring.   Baige kisses her and lets her cuddle up and this is better than any heated pad.    This little orphan kitten and I have developed a routine – first it’s a pick up for a cuddle, then I wrap her in a piece of blanket and offer the Nurishum vitamin supplement, which she likes.   The only problem is that it’s brown and sticky and Daisy gets it everywhere.   She now has brown whiskers and paws but what does it matter so long as some of it goes down.

When I offer a spoonful of pate, Daisy will start to eat it although she still hasn’t quite figured out how to do this.   After a while I put her down to finish the rest.    I’m trying to get her to eat from a saucer as she’ll hopefully not get so messed up that way and begin to eat properly.   Sometimes she opens her mouth and takes a bit so she’s making progress.    Cuddling her is still like holding a ball of fluff but she doesn’t look quite so frail – and, today, for the first time, Daisy started to purr.   This is the tiniest sound ever but such a good sign – she must be feeling better.
