Tiny Baby Hedgehogs and a wee stoat named Stitch

It’s been a busy few weeks with incoming wildlife. The weather has been unusually warm and we have been dealing with everything from dehydrated hedgehogs to injured owls. These tiny little hedgehog babies were brought in to us by a kind Pet Samaritans who had found them abandoned. They require round the clock care but we have great success in rearing little ones. We’ll return them back into the wild when they are ready.

Our trusty herd of lawn mowers have had their winter coats removed and are much cooler now. Just in time for the hot summer. The ladies were all superbly behaved and very grateful for the haircut. We have one or two sheep available for adoption, so if you are fed up with cutting the grass and need a 24/7 mower or just a lovely companion, give us a call.

A little baby stoat came into the sanctuary and we have called him Stitch – his antics has us in stitches. The stoat is a small Mustelid, related to the weasel and otter. It has an orange body, black-tipped tail and distinctive bounding gait. They live on average 2 to 5 years and if you are lucky, you might spot them dodging about on grassland areas or woodlands. This one is remarkably tame and seems to be enjoying the care and attention. We hope to be able to release him back into the wild when he is ready.
