Ponies say thanks for the apples

Ponies love apples and carrots so a big thank you to everyone who brings them in.  Also our appreciation for all the blankets, bedding, towels, clothes etc.   We couldn’t keep going without you.   This is Daydream who is one of our mini ponies and only 34inches tall.   She is a gentle soul and doesn’t push her way to the front when we’re feeding so we have to make sure she gets her fair share of the treats.    All of our rescued horses and ponies are well behaved and good natured, Chloe is the boss though and everyone defers to her.   She may be small but she is determined!   Some of our bigger rescued horses are shy with strangers and prefer to live a quiet and natural life where they are not in contact with humans they don’t trust.   Many horses are still sold at markets throughout the country.  It’s a bad experience for them and the outcome is uncertain – the meat man?   A new home where they’ll be forced to jump and compete?  Or understanding, care and freedom?    It’s down to luck and who has the most money and bids the highest.

If you’d like to ‘adopt’ one of our horses or ponies and help with their care please get in touch and we’ll send you details.   Many thanks.  [donate]
