We had a group of 16yr olds spend the day with us this week to help at the sanctuary. As part of the Nation Citzen Service scheme, young people volunteer to the help their local community. This particular group choose to support the pet Samaritans and they spent a day with us getting to know the animals and helping with some jobs around the Sanctuary. The boys and girls worked throughout the day with painting, gardening and setting up a new pond in Puddle Duck ranch for our band of ducks. It was a fantastic day and we hope to see them again soon. They also organised a sponsored walk with the proceeds going towards the animals at the Sanctuary – so a big thanks for their kind donation to the animals.
They worked really hard and as you can see from the photos achieved great results.
If you have a local community group that would like to get involved at the animal sanctuary, please get in touch.
At the end of the day, the ducks inspected their new pond and enclosure. It was great to see them splashing and enjoying the water.
