The five kittens who were born last week are still in the nest, they are just starting to open their eyes. Even at this age you can tell the difference in their personalities – the one at the front shown here is the explorer. He’s always edging to come out and if he does shuffle too far forwards his mum picks him up and puts him back. We have a name for him already and it’s Marco – because he’s an adventurer.
It’s been wonderful to have more kitten food sent in, thank you so very much. Getting a good start for the kits is so important, they never pick up if they don’t get first class food while they are growing. Although these kits aren’t eating themselves as yet, their mother is having kitten food which helps her to feed them. We feed all the pregnant ladies on junior food and keep it on until they have weaned their babies.
We have many kittens who are older, some ready to pack their little bags and go to new homes, others are older kittens who are desperate for a new family. Thanks to everyone who has given our kits a new home, it’s lovely to see the pictures when they have settled in.
One of the cats who was brought in with two older kittens is showing signs of being pregnant again. We were going to have her spayed but now it will have to wait.
Thank you also for the ‘Golden Oldie’ food – it’s very kind of you not forget our elderly ladies and gents. They love the Nature’s Menu pouches!
Marco is the first out of the nest.
There is a calico kitten in there somewhere, so there is at least one little girl. All calico’s and tortie’s are female.
A big thank you from our oldest girl – Peaches still loves her food – at age 25!
