Test for cancer in dogs

dogs - pugsie 22

We see more dogs with cancer these days and finding the lumps earlier would give more chance of treatment and recovery.  Recent research done in Sweden has made a breakthrough in diagnosis.

A genetic analysis from 25 breeds of dogs have shown that three genes are responsible.  They are the same genes that killed magician Paul Daniels so this is an important result for humans as well as dogs.

More pugs and boxers have been found to carry this gene and be prone to these brain tumours.  Hopefully a cure or preventative treatment will now get closer.
