Squirrel babies

Are they looking a bit more like squirrels?  Well, they are beginning to be covered in ginger coloured downy fur, they have strong hind legs and a squirrel shaped head.   We won’t really recognise them until their eyes open, which won’t be long, they are nearly there.

They are still having their two hourly feeds and a top and tail wash over each time, which mimics their mum licking them.   This isn’t just a fussy thing to do, it’s essential to keep their digestive system in good working order.  Mum licks them for a reason.
