Sheep having a happy life

Hello to Alice, who is one of our rescued sheep.   We took in ten of them recently, they are mothers and daughters and very loving with each other.  This little herd were destined for slaughter and would have been on somebody’s dinner plate if we hadn’t stepped in at the last minute.  Now they will live in safety for the rest of their lives.

Sheep are lovely, gentle creatures who respond well to humans when they have the chance.   They recognize faces and have good memories.   A sheep will return to the area she was born in if she has the chance.  The mothers in our little sanctuary herd are three years old and over, their daughters are last year’s lambs.

They are sociable animals and get on well with the ponies, they share food without arguments and roam about together.   Perhaps they think they are ponies!
