Rabbits for adoption

This is Chumley, one of the rabbits we recently took in.   He is settling down very well and is a lovely chap, very gentle and friendly.   His coat is in poor condition but he likes to be brushed and we are sure we’ll get him into tip top condition very soon.   Rabbits need most of their diet to consist of natural food – hay and grass with lots of dandelions and just a small amount of bought in food.   You don’t have to buy food though, you can mix it yourself very easily – rabbit recipes coming soon.

Chumley is enjoying the freedom in his new paddock and there’s lots of room to run around and plenty of grass and herbs to nibble on.   Although the rabbits came in together they are not really the best of friends.   Outside it’s fine and there’s plenty of room and they do socialize, but putting them in a hutch together doesn’t work at all – they definitely need their own space.

Snowy also is a lovely gentle fella, he is friendly and likes to be stroked and petted.  His condition needs to improve, his coat is a bit raggy and he has a big sore place behind his head.   The coat was terribly matted and weeping underneath.   We’ve cut all the knots out now and he is having medication on his poorly skin.   Snowy is a brave chap and lets us treat him without making a fuss, it must feel  a lot better already.

Poor Snowy also has a broken and ragged ear.  It’s an old injury and it makes him look a real Flopsy bunny!   The blue is where we’ve treated him with antibiotic spray.

These are two of the most charming rabbits we’ve had here for a long time, they are real personalities and need a really caring home with rabbit enthusiasts who will take very good care of them.   It would be great if they could stay together although they must have separate sleeping arrangements.    Although they are both a bit underweight at the moment, these two chaps will fill out and look great when they’ve recovered.    A good home  with plenty of space and lots and lots of love anyone?

A donation, no matter how small, will enable us to keep on rescuing rabbits like Snowy and Chumley.   Please help if you can.  Many thanks. [donate]
