We get several calls almost every day asking us to take rabbits in. We don’t have the room and facilities to help everybodyt unfortunately. But if it’s an emergency we won’t say no and when we heard about this little fella we were pleased to help. This dwarf lop-eared bunny found his own way to safety and hopped into the council Highways Depot near Tesco. He’s a tame and friendly rabbit and didn’t mind being picked up. A kind hearted staff member brought him in to us and we tucked him up in a cosy hutch with attached run. Rabbits need plenty of room and are rewarding pets but they do need lots of companionship and care. We’ve called him Pepperpot because he has a brown flecked coat, although he doesn’t have a spicy nature, he is very laid back and good to handle.
We haven’t had anyone come forward to claim him so far and, sadly, rabbits are often let go when they are no longer wanted. It’s unlikely that a pet rabbit would survive long in the wild so Pepper is lucky. Pepper will be available for adoption if he isn’t claimed so if you are wanting a really friendly rabbit please get in touch.
