Public not told – ritual slaughter is common

Pity the poor goats – and sheep and chickens – a Mail on Sunday investigation has proved what we have long suspected – that serving ritually slaughtered animals to unsuspecting members of the public is now commonplace.Halal (ritually slaughtered) meat is already on sale in shopping malls and supermarkets.   Few of the assistants know what the name means, they are invariably shocked when told.    Many leading babyfood brands contains halhal meat.   Apparently Whitbread, who own Top Table restaurants, Premier Inn Hotels and Costa Coffee have admitted that 80% of the chicken they serve is halal.    Other suppliers of halal meat include racecourses, top schools and all the meat served at Wembley stadium is halal.

If you are buying or eating meat ask first and make sure you know whether it is from a ritually slaughtered animal.   We don’t permit polygamy or stoning – why ritual slaughter?
