Plucky pigeon is ready to fly

Never doubt the power of prayer!   Our pigeon came in badly injured, bleeding profusely and barely conscious.    That so many people have sent good thoughts and willed her to live has made all the difference.  Her wounds have healed almost miraculously and she has recovered her strength.

Plucky pigeon is eating well and has even laid an egg.   We always set injured birds up with as natural environment as possible and Plucky likes the leaves and branches and began to perch as soon as she was well enough.

Georgina, seen here, has been Plucky’s chief carer and has done a magnificent job in restoring this little bird to health again.   What is so fantastic is the way Plucky trusts us and is confident enough to perch on Georgina’s hands without any stress.   She knows we have been helping her.

Another couple of days just to make sure and then we’ll give Plucky her freedom – it’s what it’s all about.
