Homer is standing up and very day brings a bit more progress. It’s been a slow recovery but now we’re sure he’s going to get his strength back. Homer couldn’t take any weight on his legs when he first came in, he’s a racing pigeon and when we contacted his owner he thought that his bird was exhausted and had a weakness that would take a while to get over. This is exactly what happened, we’ve been taking food to Homer and then he managed to shuffe across to the dish of corn and now he can walk there on his own.
He’s not ready for release yet and it might be another few weeks before he can fly but he has the will to live and he’s getting there. Patience, Homer, we’ll release you when you’re ready.
