We had an unexpected guest pop along to the Animal Sanctuary today. Everybody was quite suprised to see a male pheasant wondering about the visitor yard. We are not quite sure where he came from but he seemed very much at home as if he had lived at the animal sanctuary all his life. The cats and people didn’t seem to bother him at all and he stayed on for quite some time. While there are fields at the back of the sanctuary, he had come quite a way down so it was quite unusual. We have decided to call him Graham and hope to see him again soon.
His feathers and plumage were beautiful and it was a real pleasure to see one so close. Pheasants really are magnificent birds.
We are pleased to say the pigeon brought in is doing well and we are hopeful for a full recovery. We have lots of baby birds on the mend, so thanks to all the Pet Samaritans out there who continue to bring in Wildlife on a daily basis.
