Pet pigs need a licence to be moved

If you keep pet pigs – micro’s, minis or just a big pig who is a family pet, then from April 2012 onwards you will have to comply with the electronic pig movement system if you want to move them.   Fetching your first pig, finding your pigs a new home or taking them to a different location can’t be done unless you have a licence which now must be registered online.

Pig movements must be reported through the electronic system from 1st April onwards.  Paper licences will no longer be valid.   You can register to opt in to the pig movement service which has been set up by the British Pig Executive, by going to www,eaml2.org.uk who will also give you more information.
