Jasmine delivered her kittens safely on 21st April, we’d had one or two false alarms where I thought she was kittening but she was just having a lie in! She’d chosen her spot and made a nest in a nice cosy box and had lots of soft blankets and the mohair jumper she especially likes. Jasmine didn’t come out for breakfast, nor dinner. I could see that she was alright but didn’t want to disturb her.
Jasmine is a friendly little tabby cat who came in as a stray and already with a fat tummy. She is fully grown, although she is small and neat and very quiet in her manner. It’s such a pity about one of her eyes which has an old injury, the vet has told us there is nothing to be done. She can’t see out of it but it doesn’t seem to bother her in anyway.
I didn’t know whether Jasmine would be upset if I changed her bedding and looked at her kits but she didn’t mind at all. She’s eating well now although she is a bit fussy and likes ‘only the best’ – quite right too!
Yesterday I was convinced there were four kittens.
No, there are definitely five! All sleeping, content and as fat as butter. Good mommy Jasmine.
