It comes to us all in the end and when elderly owners pass away, who is going to care for their pets?   Sometimes relatives just can’t cope.  That’s when they turn to us.  We have an emergency pet care scheme and (space and funds permitting) we will look after these home alone pets.

This week we’ve had two cats come in because they have been left suddenly on their own.   Oliver is a handsome pure white cat with the most limpid pale green eyes, he really is a stunner.   He’s a bit shy as yet but is a lovely friendly character.   A change of environment without any explanation when you are in late middle age takes some getting used to.   When he settles down he’ll be fine.

What has helped is the arrival of another cat around the same age.   Jake too has lost his owner suddenly.  He is a more cnfident cat than Oliver and has settled down very quickly.   He’s a lovely fella, very affectionate, slightly overweight but with a weight watchers diet and a bit more exercise and he’ll be fine.

The amazing thing is that these two cats have palled up right away.  Oliver has come out of his den and they’ve had a good chat together about fish suppers, lady cats they’ve known and old times in general.   I wonder if they knew each other in a past life?   They do make a striking couple, jet black and so very white.

If you can give either of these two sit-on-the-sofa golden-oldies a good home please get in touch.  Both are vaccinaed, neutered and fully litter trained.   Or if you’d like to ‘adopt’ either of them and help with their care that would be a great help.   We send you pictures, their story and regular updates.  We’ll be happy to send you further details.
