Jack Spratt and Miss Nolene have been in the sanctuary for many years and they are inseparable although they do have their moments and have a little squabble from time to time. Spratt is very opinionated but Nolene usually gives in to him. They are both disabled dogs – Spratt has only three legs – he’s been telling us this week that he lost his leg in a fight with a badger when he was just a pup. He did have a badly injured leg when he came in but I’m not sure this is true though.
He’s also thinks he can see any dog off from a Rottweiler to a Ridgeback. Spratt is a bit of a fantasist where tales of his fight nights are concerned.
Even though badgers aren’t his favourite wild animals he doesn’t like to hear about them being killed. It’s great news that the badger cull is off – for the time being at least. But for all Spratt’s brave talk, I’ve noticed him giving the badger setts a wide berth when he goes out for a walk in the evening.
