Disabled dog is a book lover

Jack Spratt, our politically incorrect three legged boss-dog, loves to sit down and have a read.   His best pal, Miss Nolene, isn’t so interested.   Jack looks at the pictures, especially if they are of other dogs or, best of all, cats!    It’s a good thing he can’t run fast enough to catch them!

Jack likes to sit on your knee, he loves companionship and fuss.  When he sees a book being picked up he wants to sit with us and have a read.   Because of his disability, he likes to be picked up and be as close as possible.   Many three legged dogs adapt well but Jack had other injuries when we rescued him – a broken pelvis and a fracture to his right hind leg, this makes it harder for him to get around.   Nolene doesn’t like to be picked up, she had major surgery shortly after she came in, and although she was paralysed for a while, she made a good recovery.   Perhaps there’s still a twinge or bit of nervousness about whether it will hurt?   Nolene is best when she has her little paws firmly on the ground.
