Injured hedgehog

Pearl is an injured hedgehog who was brought in over the weekend. Doesn’t she look sorry for herself?   The reason is a large contusion on the top of her neck.  She was found at the edge of a busy road so it seems likely she was knocked down.

We’re keeping her warm and she is eating  so that is a good sign.  Her wound isn’t deep but looks sore, some soothing aloe vera will ease it for her.

Pearl isn’t curling up when we touch her but this may not be a good sign, she’s not feeling well enough to react in the normal way.  Hopefully she’ll keep on eating and recover a bit more overnight.   She’s a beautiful hedgehog with an unusual pale colour.  These little creatures are so vulnerable, hang in there little one.
