Our two biggest hedgehog babies are doing well and have a good appetite. Warm goats milk is still the favourite and they also like a variety of food – hedgehogs are picky eaters though and what they like one day, they spurn the next.
They like sunflower seeds, chicken, cat food (chicken again), pieces of apples, nuts and seeds. Biggie has the most varied appetite – he adores a tiny piece of fruit cake.
The smaller hoglets are still on milk mostly but do nibble cat food, they are still much smaller than these two.
Robin, our three legged hedgehog continues to do well and likes food most of all. He clears his plate and then goes back to his nest. At one stage we thought he was going to hibernate but the lure of food tempts him out. It’s very difficult to get a photo of him though, he’s shy and also mainly feeds at night.
