Horse runaways

A worrying phone call from Louise, one of the Park Rangers, earlier today.  She’s found two loose horses in the Killamarsh area, running around and in danger of getting on to the road and being involved in an accident.   Louise has been trying to catch the horses but without success.   When horses are out of their environment they get excited and especially when they don’t know the person are almost impossible to catch and run further away.   Freedom is so good!

Unfortunately, when Louise rang it was an especially busy time and we  we couldn’t go across there to help.  All we could do was give her advice on how to cope with the situation and ask her to ring back a bit later if they were still out.    If you live in the Killamarsh area and are missing a couple of young horses please get in touch and we’ll tell you where they were last seen.

Today’s update – the horses are out of danger and back home  – here’s the latest from Louise:

I spoke to a very nice lady today – whom I regret I did not get the name of.  (Daphne!) It was regarding 2 stray horses at Killamarsh.  I am the ranger who called for advice. I would like the lady to know that I eventually located the field from which they had escaped and put them back in. A local farmer assisted me with locating the owner and a telephone number but there was no answer. It seems they escape frequently – inadequate gates. Thank you again for your concern and advice. You were the only person willing me to find a solution. Everyone else advised me to leave them :0(.

No problem.  Thanks for letting us know Louise and also for your good words.   You did a fine job.  Glad it ended without mishap.
