We’ve been getting worried about Mr. Womble, the large hedgehog we rescued last year. He’s a biggie and had enough body fat for the hibernation so thought he must be alright. But he has been slower than many of the others to wake up, perhaps because he’s kept having lots of mid-hibernation snacks during the winter and his hay nest was so comfy.
The warm weather has done it though and he’s finally fully up and running- well, not quite although hedgehogs can really move when they want to. Womble mostly runs towards food – he loves his meal times. It’s good to see him looking so well and with no noticeable loss of body weight, although we’re going to weigh him tomorrow and find out.
