Hope had a badly injured eye when she was first brought in as a kitten. She had many months of vet treatment and there was a risk of her losing her eye.
Eventually however, her eye responded to treatment and it was a great day when the vet gave her the all clear although it seemed as though she was blind in the eye. We didn’t know whether anyone would want to adopt a disabled kitten but some wonderful people came along and fell in love with her – she adored them too right from the start. Hope has a very loving nature.
So that was a happy ending but not the final piece of the story. We’re recently had an update, Hope has settled well and now she is grown up has just been spayed.
While she was under the anaesthetic the vet had a look at her ‘blind’ eye. He’d been asked to check and see if all was well. There was a film across it and in an inspired surgical procedure he managed to remove the film Amazingly the eye underneath was perfect. Hope’s eye is fine and now she can see perfectly.
It took a long while for her to get better but didn’t we give this sweet cat the right name? We hoped she’d recover and she did!
Thank you to her new people for giving her such a fantastic home.
