And especially to our best friends – who wrote this specially for Christmas –

I am clumsy and sweet and get under your feet in the permanent hope of a pat.      I pester for walks and intimate talks when you’re occupied feeding the cat.   I’m rather untrained and you look somewhat   pained  and you call me a nuisance it’s true,    but I’m yours to the end, I’m your very best friend for I love you whatever you do.
