The goose fight club has been disbanded for another year. We know that summer is just about over because this week the geese have stopped fighting. During autumn and winter the geese get along well, but come spring they begin to fight and it goes on until the weather is on the turn ready for autumn. We’ve had to keep enemies apart since April but suddenly all is well and they are friends again. Gregory Goodfellow longs to be with the other geese but, although he is the largest gander we have here, during the summer months they would gang up on him and kill him. Why do they do this? I guess that geese suffer from hormones and it’s all to do with protecting their territory and mating rituals. We don’t have any female geese at the present time but the instinct is obviously still there.
This is Gregory Goodfellow who is a friendly and brave. He has an injured wing after an encounter with a fox who took his mate. Gregory has a great temperament and likes to be hand fed. He’s spent the summer longing to be with the other geese and it’s great to see them accept him as a friend again.
Till next year anyway! [donate]
