Freedom day for lucky Jackdaw

jack

It’s been a long haul back to health and strength for Jimbo our lucky jackdaw.   He came in as a fledgling and was weak and frail to start with.   He’s proved to be a real character though and it was difficult to know when to release him.   On several occasions we’ve given him the chance of freedom and he didn’t want to go!

We didn’t want to have a tame and captive jackdaw staying with us forever though.  It would have been lovely for us but not the best life for him so we gave him the chance to be free again and this time he took it.   Jackdaws are exceptinally fine birds, they relate to humans and like all the same glittery gizmos that most of us like.   They are inquisitive and sociable and we hope that Jimbo soon finds another Jackdaw to fly with.   He was soon up and away and getting his bearings before finding a tall part of the hedge to perch in.  He can feel the breeze in his feathers and smell the wild flowers and elder blossom. Every bird a small miracle –  keep safe my friend.
