We don’t know how long Wispa had to fend for herself before she was brought in to us. Her face is thin, her eyes are sad and she is desperately thin. She looks older than her size allows so we are wondering how long she has been left out to cope on her own. It’s almost impossible for a kitten to survive without food, shelter and a mother to look after her but Wispa has made it so far so she must have the will to live. Although she is hungry she is also picky about what she eats and none of the usual tasty morsels and invalid food have appealed to her. Maybe she has been used to her mother catching mice for her? Our best success has been with the little pots of chicken and spinach in a creamy sauce, she loves them and the chicken and liver variety too. At least she’s eating now that she has thawed out. What is unusual about Wispa is how much she likes the Miss Whippets and wants to sit with them and cuddle up to them. They are used to helping look after little orphans and are very gentle with her. Whether she doesn’t realise they are a different species or whether they are more comforting than her heated pad, I can’t imagine. She is sucha little sweetie, fingers crossed and prayers please.
