The ducklings are doing well. There’s a big sigh of relief with that statement. They were so tiny, frail and bedraggled when they first came in and getting them to eat was tricky. We made them a nest of hay, a dish of water nearby, a pile of grass and gradually they settled down and began to tuck in. They needed their mom so it’s been a miracle that they’ve made it so far.
These little mallards are looking good now, not so terrified but used to their surroundings and knowing that they are safe. When they are reared we’ll release them in a safe place on water.
