Dog home alone after burglar attacks

This handsome collie looks sad and with good reason.  When a burglar attacked his owner the man’s injuries were so bad that he had to be taken in to hospital.  Beau was left on his own with no one to care for him.  The police looked after him to begin with but when it was clear that his owner wasn’t coming out straight away, they contacted us to see if we would take Beau in.   There was no hesitation, we are glad to help in an emergency.   Beau couldn’t stay on his own and was distraught and bewildered.  It must have  been a distressing experience.  How can he understand why his owner was hurt and why he had left him?

Beau was much happier after a walk, a tasty meal  and lots of hugs, fuss and reassurance.  He is a lovely chap, very well behaved and affectionate.  He is in great condition and has obviously been well looked after.   We hope  his owner will make a good and speedy recovery and soon be reunited with his faithful dog.
