It was touch and go whether this little family would have a happy ending. Demelza had escaped from a cardboard box as she was being brought in. She’d run off and the kittens were all alone. They were refusing to feed and we thought we would lose them. Then, a miracle – our next door neighbour found her, she was hiding under a bush and obviously still fretting for her kits. He caught her and we reunited the mother and babies the next day.
Demelza is a wonderful mother and the kittens are all girls. We’ve called the white one Pebbles, in memory of our lovely old pure white girl who passed away last year. The calico doesn ‘t have a name as yet, isn’t she a beauty! The little tortie at the back always seems to be squashed in between the others. This is one of the nicest little families we’ve had in a long time – well done Demelza.
