Death Row Dogs

Please pray for all the dogs who have no hope of re-homing and whose time on earth is slipping away.

There are so many reasons why a dog finishes up in a ‘no-hope’ situation.    Usually it’s because of behavioural problems.   A dog is a different species to us but we require him to always comply with our wishes.    We are perplexing creatures to a dog and often he cannot help his instincts.    Good dogs do bad things and then they are thrown out.

It’s not that there are too many dogs (although there might certainly be too many people) but that these intelligent canines cannot always behave in the way we like.   Dogs are even thrown out because they shed hair!   What are they supposed to do?     If a dog is small, docile and easily trained, he will have a home for life.   A big lad, full of life and spirit will inevitably upset someone.   Dogs fight, hunt, race around till they are tired, chew bones and dig holes.    Then it’s a one way trip for them.

Not all kennels have a non-destruction policy.   Not all the dogs are problem characters either.   Some are sweet characters, others old and frail, some will be young and giddy.    When the ten days are up and they aren’t claimed it will be ‘you, you and you.’     A trip to the vets ‘hold your paw up please’ and then it’s ‘pass the body bag’ and ‘next please’.     We owe so much to our friend the dog.   Our civilisation has been built with his help and yet they are routinely killed.

Let’s say a prayer each day for all the dogs who have not found their way to us and are being kept in pens until they are destroyed ……please pray that they will be claimed ………………..or  that they will be found loving homes.

Please pray that the Pet Samaritans can find the funds to carry on rehabilitating and saving as many dogs as possible.
