Clothes wanted – how you can help

Even the goats can make use of the clothes that are brought in.   They are a desert breed – Anglo Nubians – and feel the cold more than the swiss Saanen types.   This is Belinda who is making good use of a fluorescent jacket.

Unwanted clothes, shoes, handbags  –   Please bring in any unwanted clothes, shoes, belts, handbags – we can turn them into pet food!     All the clothes are sorted and nothing is wasted.   Those in good condition are offered for sale, anything torn or worn out goes to the ‘rag man’ and we buy dog and cat food with the proceeds.  It isn’t a great deal but every little helps and it does make a big difference when it’s all added up.

Children’s clothes wanted  –      We can also make very good use of baby, toddler and children’s clothes.  It’s a good feeling to know that we’re helping with the cost of youngsters clothes when everything is so expensive nowadays.  We sell every item at a bargain price.

Blankets, duvets, towels, bedding    –  We use all of these for the animals, keeping them warm and providing a comfy bed.   If you have any spare please bring them in.  Blankets especially are very useful for poorly dogs and cats.

Toiletries, scent etc.  –  we need all your unwanted soap, perfumes, hair sprays, lotions and potions – we can fill gift boxes with them and sell them to buy cat and dog food.   If you don’t like the brand – you can be sure that someone else will!

Jewellery, beads and bangles – we can make good use of them even if broken – our young school age fund raisers re-make them into different items and sell them for food for the cats and dogs.

Please bring to Reception – If you press the bell on Reception we’ll come right out – we like to be able to thank you for your help and kindness.   If we’re not around (because we’re looking after the animals) please help yourself to a Newsletter and any information leaflets you need.    The books are free in our BOOK SWAP scheme – a pouch or two next time you come is much appreciated and bring us some more books – please.

Pet food please – We always urgently need cat and dog food – please leave in Reception if you can bring any in -we have a lot of hungry pets and  they keep on eating it of course!

Apples and carrots – the ponies and goats love apples and carrots.

Open – We’re open from 9.0am to 4.0pm for drop off in Reception – which is the blue/grey wooden cabin on the right hand side in the top yard.
