Thank you for helping us- and bringing in food. We couldn’t do any of this without you ….. but …..we’ve had a lot of new arrivals in recently and once again, we urgently need help to feed them all, pay our vet bills and get the kittens vaccinated. Donations are, quite literally, a life saver. Joining us and becoming a Pet Samaritans Member costs only £10 a year is a great help and we’ll send you our newsletters and an emergency pet care card. The latest newsletter is just out and you can pick one up from ‘In the Dog House’ shop or let us know your address and we’ll send one out to you. Another way to help us is by bringing in any unwanted clothes, shoes and handbags – we can change the stuff you don’t want into pet food. We also always need blankets, towels, sheets etc., these are for the poorly and frail animals we rescue.
In doesn’t matter what condition the clothes items are in – please leave in Reception, which is open 10.0am to 4.0pm. Almost any things you don’t need any more are useful, so long as they aren’t broken. Small items of furniture, pictures, mirrors, jewellery, gift sets, old records, dvd’s, kitchenware you don’t need any more, books you’ve read -please bring them along – we can wave our magic wand over them and hey presto – they are kitten pouches! If you have larger items please check with us first. Pet food for cats and dogs is always needed. We have lots of golden oldies as well as the baby cats, also starving and skinny dogs who eat for England! Sometimes we have a large stack of cans in Reception and feel reassured then a few days later it’s gone – the dogs and cats have wolfed them all down!
Lily is a lovely girl who came in as a stray, she is well behaved and affectionate but is still looking for a home. Food is important to her – she loves her dinners! We never put any of our rescued animals to sleep (except on health grounds and vet advice) but feeding them and keeping them going is a massive job. Many thanks for your support.
