Christmas reunion for ‘golden-oldie’ cat

Jasmine is one of our elderly residents, she came to the sanctuary when her people had to move abroad.   She’s a lovely cat who settled down well from the start.   Jasmine is 15 years old but doesn’t look her age, she is active, sociable and likes to roam about when the weather is good;  she does love her heated pad this time of year.

When we had unexpected visitors at the height of the snowstorms we didn’t, at first, recognise Jasmine’s owners.   They told us that they were over here on holiday from Canada and had come to see their pet.    Would she still know them?    We went in to see Jasmine and she gave them the once over.   Who were these people who were making such a fuss of her?     All of a sudden it clicked – and Jasmine went wild!   She was purring, drooling, fussing and giving her visitors the biggest welcome ever.   This old lady cat has an excellent memory.    Would she ever forget a friend?   I doubt it.

Her owners were so pleased that she remembered them and that she was doing so well.   They are hoping to return to the U.K. in a couple of years time and will come and see Jasmine again straight away.   Maybe they’ll be taking her home with them next time?    Wouldn’t that be a happy ending!
