Cassie’s kitten is mummy’s pet

What a difference a day makes – yesterday Cassie was stressed and not sure whether motherhood was right for her.   Today she is settling down to babycare and getting used to being a mom.   She still looks a bit surprised though, she’s barely out of kittenhood herself and at times doesn’t quite know whether to sit up or  lie down when she’s nursing.  Sometimes she moves her kitten around and takes him through to her eating area.  I haven’t seen her washing him and kissing him yet but it’s early days.

He is doing well and that’s the main thing, he’s a round little kitten, not long and sleek like some kittens we’ve had.  This one is  getting all the milk, nobody to share with so he’ll be a mummy’s pet for sure.    Why am I calling the kitten a ‘he’?   I haven’t checked because I don’t want to disturb Cassie.   Somehow he looks like a little boy.

Can I nurse sitting up?
