Shop in aid of the animals

Our shop is open Thursday and Friday afternoon every week – between 12.0noon and 4.0pm.   We’re still feeding hay, the blacksmith’s coming to trim feet again this week (always a mega bill), we need a huge amount of dog and cat food, (we have lots of big dogs – can anyone bring us some please?)  the vet bills are always with us and summer seems a long way off.   But we do have lots of books, paperbacks, hardbacks, fiction, non-fiction, first editions even.  Also antiques, collectibles, decorative items, vintage jewellery, fair trade and greeting cards.

Kim is here every Thursday and Friday to dish out the coffee and cakes and help you choose whatever you’d like to buy.     Can we turn our goodies into dog food and care for the animals?    Well, we’re going to have a try so please call round on Thursday and Friday afternoons – lots of animal updates to sit and read about  – we’d love to see you and you’ll be sure of a warm welcome.

We’ll open at 11.0am and go on till about 3.0ish.  We have some great titles and there must be 1,000’s of books in the sanctuary shop – all have been donated (thanks folks) and are real bargains – paperbacks 3 for £1.00. hardbacks from 50p.   You might even find some 1st editions and vintage out of print copies.   Whenever I see people buying new books in High Street shops and supermarkets I feel as though I want to tap them on the shoulder and say ‘Hey, we have that ‘In the Dog House’ – you can buy it from us for £1.00!’    We get lots of brand new best sellers in, all the latest thrillers and romances, travel, gardening, cooking etc. so why not come along and get the same book for a small price and help the animals at the same time.

Jack Spratt loves to have a cuddle and have a book read to him!
