These three baby squirrels were brought in when the tree that was their home was cut down. The parents ran away and the nest was destroyed. A kind hearted nearby resident saw the little orphans and tucked them up in a shoe box filled with cotton wool until she could get them to us.
We’ve reared orphan squirrels before but none as small as these. They are two girls and a boy and all are so far feeding well. We have them on a heated pad which they love and snuggle down to keep warm. They are very tiny though, little more than a week old so it’s two hourly feeds and touch and go at the moment.
