Baby Pigeon progress

birds - squabbie 10

One of the baby pigeons we had brought in a week or so ago, sadly didn’t make it.   She was frail and didn’t put weight on although she did feed.  The other little chap is a champion though and he’s doing fine.  Here he is balancing on a crystal which he likes.  We use crystals a lot in healing, they give energy and beneficial vibrations which make all the difference.   This little squabbie has gone from no feathers to full feathers in a short time and he is always hungry.  We feed him every two hours during the day but he is sleeping through the night now.

The surprising thing about this little one is that he can fly already.   The squab we started rearing last month did a lot of practising but has only just managed to flutter about.   This baby can fly from his box up on to my arm without any problem.  He can ‘t wait to get his feed and it’s so lovely that he wants to be held.   Most wild birds and creatures are afraid of people and who can blame them.

Only a couple of weeks ago – his wings didn’t have any feathers, such rapid progress.
