The three baby hedgehogs who came in together are all doing well. They’re are hungry little hoglets and enjoy their food. We don’t have to give them a bottle any more, they wuffle up their dinners as soon as we put them down. The thing they like most is the heated pad and as soon as they have dined they head back to their bed and snuggle down where it’s warm. They don’t lie on top but wriggle into the blankets so they are as close as possible to the heat and are completely covered up.
This is Rebekah, one of our volunteers who helps us with the hedgehogs, owls and cats and dogs. Rebekah works hard helping us to care for all the animals (thanks Rebekah) and she hopes to be a vet one day. These are the two biggest hoglets, the third is a bit smaller and when he was first brought in took longer to recover.
Hedgehogs are messy eaters and usually wander through their food before they eat it! They are doing well but we’d like them to be a lot bigger before we release them.
