These baby barn owls have been brought in and we are trying to rear them. They are only a few days old and quite frail. We have to open their beaks and hand feed them, hopefully they will soon learn to take food from us, when they do we’ll feel a lot more confident about their chances.
Little owlets usually have a good appetite. We’re keeping them on a heat pad and giving them as much cut up chick as they will take. It’s touch and go at present.
They don’t look much like barn owls at this age do they?
