Armistice Day Remember the Animals

mule in war

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month the 1st World War came to an end and the Armistice was signed.  Huge numbers of horses and mules were used to fight the war and most were   killed.  It was a bloodbath, they were shelled and blown up and endured the most horrific cruelty.   This was so humans could  fight one another.   Spare a thought for them, the dogs and pigeons also and light a candle, say a prayer, think about these brave animals who died for us.  Let’s pray that it never happens again.
