Our Christmas Fayre special open day was a great festive occasion. Thanks to all those people who attended and helped out with the event. It was a cold wet day but lots of folks braved the elements to come and wish the animals a merry christmas. Our tea and cake stall was well received and many thanks to the ladies who baked all those lovely cakes to raise funds for the sanctuary. Many thanks to the Derbyshire Times for attending the event. We’d also like to thank Whittamcox Architects for raising £80.05 with a company dress down day for the animals. Thank you so much for thinking of us.
Our magical reindeer make your own food area was a big hit with kids and adults all having a go at making some reindeer food for the big day.
We received lots of food donations which will go a long way towards keep the animals well fed over christmas. Thanks to everyone who brought items and donated money to our Kitten Maternity appeal. We now have heating in our unit so the cats will be lovely and warm while nursing. There’s still a lot to do and we need to raise funds for materials so we can build more units for the nursing mums and orphaned kittens.
The center is now open daily, so if you are in the area, pop in for a cup of tea and browse our selection of gifts all sold in aid of the animals. We have some lovely vintage clothes, collectible and all sorts of curiosities available people have kindly donated to raise money for the animals.
It’s been a great year at the Sanctuary but we couldn’t have done it without your support. So a big big thank you to everyone. From all the animals and the team, Merry christmas and a happy new year.
