Always hungry Labradors

Who could resist those pleading eyes?  Labradors are prone to being overweight and begging for food, they love big dinners and treats.  Now research scientists at Cambridge University have found out why Labs are the dog world fatties – they have a different gene to other breeds and can’t switch off that ‘always-hungry’ feeling even when they’ve just eaten.  So over-eating is not their fault.

People can also carry this gene variant and have trouble with their weight too.   It’s not impossible to keep your labrador slim though, diet food, smaller portions and more exercise will do it.  With humans it takes lots of will power!
