She looks like a fairly ordinary black and white cat but Princess Rocky is really something special.   You’ve seen the ad now meet the cat with thumbs!   Princess Rocky is a polydactyl cat – that is she has an extra toe on each paw.   Normally cats have 18 toes, five on each front paw and four on each hind paw.   Princess Rocky has an extra toe on each of her feet.   It doesn’t bother her at all and just looks very cute, as though she has mittens on.

It’s a genetic trait and there are lots of cats especially in America, with extra paws.   They are highly prized over there with special Cat Clubs to recognise the breed.

Princess Rocky came in to us because her owner was moving and could no longer keep her.   She has settled welll and is a lovely and very beautiful cat with a gentle and quiet nature.   She has always been kept as an indoor cat and likes a laid back lifestyle.   She is very loving and can be playful at times although basically she likes to sit quietly and watch the world go by.

If we could only teach her to open milk bottles and doors she might have a career on t.v.!
