When a little tortieshell cat started wandering around our outbuildings we could see that she was hungry. It looked as though she had been brought here and just left for us to find. She was shy but sneaked in for food and then dashed away as soon as she’d ate her fill. There have been long periods when we haven’t seen her around and we began to wonder why she kept disappearing.
Yesterday we tracked her down and found the reason for her large appetite and long absences. Our cat from nowhere has had kittens in the stables. She’s a clever girl and has made a hidden nest in an old rabbit hutch among the hay. There are four little beauties hidden away there. How old are they? Only a few days at a guess. Two are ginger and the other two are torties (so must be little girls) just like their mum.
